Web Design

Helping to build a great looking, functional website.

What is Web Design?

The term Web Design can have a very broad meaning for many. In this case, we mean the design, user experience and optimisation of a website to be shown on the internet.

Creation:
This is the nuts and bolts of a website, it’s important that your website looks, feels and generates results that you intend. This could be that you want customers to read about your product and ring your sales team, fill in an online form, buy tickets or simply want to pass on essential information.

User experience:
Although many may argue this is not true web design, User experience or UX is very much integrated into the web design process. The two should go hand in hand, the goal is to have a beautiful, functional and helpful website that users find visually appealing but simple to use.

Optimisation:
Linking back to both of the last two points, website optimisation should be very high up on the priority list. Gone are the days that you can make a website intended for a desktop PC and that is good enough.

Search engines (Google especially) are actively encouraging web designers and developers to optimise their websites, so much in fact that websites could suffer a ranking penalty for being too slow or not mobile friendly. Not optimising your website could mean a beautiful, functional website gains no traffic due to poor optimisation. It’s best if we don’t let that happen.

The Bottom Line…

Web design can be a bit of an untamed beast at times, there is so much that you have to think about from the start that it can seem like a daunting task. If the correct steps are followed throughout the build process, the end results can generate huge rewards and a sense of pride for you, the business owner.
